Kick off meeting of the European Universities initiative by the European Commission Kick off meeting of the European Universities initiative by the European Commission ===================================================================================== General 4 November 2019 To mark the kick-off of the first 17 European Universities alliances, the European Commission is organising an event on the European Universities Initiative on Thursday 7th November 2019. **EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES INITIATIVE BUILDING THE UNIVERSITIES OF THE FUTURE** \- KICK-OFF event, 7th November 2019, Brussels To mark the kick-off of the first 17 European Universities alliances, the European Commission is organising an event on the European Universities Initiative on **Thursday 7th November 2019**. The event will present the transformative role of the European Universities initiative and provide an open discussion on the concept, the perception and the implementation of European Universities as a model for the future of Higher Education. Professor Astrid Söderbergh Widding, President of Stockholm University, will represent the CIVIS alliance, as one of the panelists, and share our vision on the university of the Future. This event will also be the occasion for the 17 Alliances to come together, to share their projects to policy makers, students and academics, and explore the opportunities created by this initiative.
